Parker Shotgun serial number 173071 is a "BHE" Grade ordered for G.C. Hinan in 1916. Gun eventually became property of William Earle Umstattd of Canton, Ohio who was an executive of Timken Roller Bearing Company and his name is inscribed on stock shield. Gun features blued "Acme Steel" barrels with matted rib with twin Lyman bead sights and ejectors. Case hardened No. 2 frame with "BHE" style dog and scroll full coverage engraving. Parker single selective trigger with non-automatic safety. Walnut factory "English Style" straight grip stock with checkered side panels and "Fleur de Lis" pattern carving behind panels. Stock has factory cheekpiece and was fitted originally for a Silvers recoil pad (Hawkins reproduction pad currently). Walnut checkered beavertail forearm with latch release. PROVENANCE: Comes with factory letter showing production data and that gun was returned to Parker in 1918 for restocking with the guns current dimensions. Also comes with small biography of William Earle Ummstattd. CONDITION: 90% of a possible factory reblack on barrels with mirror bores. 70% case colors with wear on carry areas. Trigger bow has small dented area with light surface pitting and handling wear. Wood has been cleaned and has replaced reproduction Hawkins pad with an area of small cracks on left side near toe. Small chip out of behind tang. Gun locks up tight. Screws have been turned. DLM
