Lot consists of: A) Colt New Service Model 6-shot, double action revolver made in 1914. Blued round barrel with blade front sight marked with 2-line Colt address on top, "New Service .455 Eley" on left with crown over "V" proof. Blued frame with "(crown) / V" proof. Gun has "A. J. Averill A/85th R.F.A." written in script on backstrap, who apparently was the original owner. A/85th is a British/South African Battery who were involved in several major campaigns in World War I. Gun has black Colt logo grips with lanyard loop on butt. Great research piece. CONDITION: 60% blue with some slight surface blemishing and holster wear. Grips broken at butt with chips missing out of both grips. Bore has sharp rifling with some slight pitting. Good mechanics. (B) Colt Army Special Model 6-shot, double action revolver made in 1926. Blued round barrel with blade front sight, 2-line Colt address on top and "Colt Army Special 38" on left side of barrel. Blued frame and fluted cylinder with Rampant Colt behind cylinder. Polished hammer with fire blued trigger. Walnut checkered Colt medallion 2-piece grips. CONDITION: 60% blue with edges worn silver from holster. Grips worn slightly flat with dings in butt. Shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
