German WWII Heer M35 SD camouflage helmet marked "NS66" for the maker "Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke Schwerte", in a shell size of 66, with a lot number of "5477". Shell retains 80-85% of its tan brush applied camouflage, and carefully painted around the decal. While this style of camouflage, with an exposed decal, is consistent with helmets worn in North Africa, is could also have been worn in other areas of Southern Europe. The Heer decal is approximately 90%, the camouflage has been carefully brush painted around it, with most of it lacquer still present and clearly visible with a black light. There is no sign of the national colors decal, and it was probably removed according to wartime regulations. Interior retains approximately 95% of its untouched smooth gray-green finish, with dust and freckling. Original aluminum liner band is present and is untouched. Liner is intact, untouched, in a medium brown color, with light moderate stains, dryness, and flaking around its rim. Original drawstring is present with a liner size "58" stamping. Original chinstrap, with both an aluminum and steel button, and aluminum buckle. Chinstrap appears to be original to the helmet with moderate wear and crazing and no visible markings. A very desirable untouched and complete M35 combat camouflage helmet. CONDITION: Overall excellent+. WZ
