Fitted with standard 29-1/2" blued barrel chambered for .45-70 cartridge with "V/P/(Eagle Head)" proofs and Buffington rear sight. Blued trigger guard and lock marked with "US/SPRINGFIELD" and eagle. Case hardened receiver with "US/MODEL/1884" breechblock. Fitted with walnut stock marked with sanded "SWP/1886" cartouche and circle "P" proof at wrist and a rack number towards the butt. Stock fixtures include two "U" marked barrel bands, US marked butt plate and second type flat tip cleaning rod. Complete with "US" marked socket bayonet and leather sling. CONDITION: Very Good/Good. Metal retains significant amounts of finish with areas thinning to mellow brown patina. Stock lightly sanded with a few scattered indents. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Good mechanics. BAS
