1881 vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 66546. 7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 Winchester Center Fire with standard SAA front sight and notched rear. Left of barrel marked "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" in etched panel with single line Colt Hartford, CT address on top of barrel. 2 piece custom ivory grips featuring scrolls and depiction of an unknown U.S. Marshal over "U.S. Marshal" on right grip panel. Engraved in Cattlebrand style with about 85% coverage with famous cattle brands over a punch dot background. Name of engraver and date engraved unknown. CONDITION: Very good as completely refinished with modest wear and darkening forming on silver plating. Reapplied etched panel and single line barrel address. Aftermarket grips are ill fitting, with repair at bottom rear of right grip panel. Action works correctly but is loose with hammer wink and cylinder side and endshake. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves. -TN-
