Springfield Model 1879 Trapdoor Carbine made in 1880. Blued round tapered carbine barrel with pinned blade front sight and "C" marked rear flip sight graduated to 800 yards. Blued breechblock marked "US Marked Model 1873". Blued lock marked with "Eagle" and "US Springfield 1873". Correct walnut carbine stock with trap buttplate and illegible cartouche. 2 piece trigger guard with no sling swivel and barrel band without stacking swivel. Slide bar with saddle ring on left hand side. CONDITION: Overall good with heavy usage marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
