Lot of 2: (A) U.S. Model 1836 Martial pistol made by Robert Johnson of Middletown, CT with 1841 dated lock that has been converted to percussion. 8-1/2" barrel in .54 caliber with 1-piece plain walnut stock. CONDITION: Very good as iron parts have been re-polished with minor pitting from storage. Stock has been sanded and refinished. Action works correctly with cock having some slight side to side movement. Bore is dark. (B) U.S. Model 1836 Martial pistol made by A. Waters of Milbury, Massachusetts with 1837 dated lock that has been converted to percussion along with barrel and breech. 8-1/2" round barrel in .54 caliber with 1-piece walnut stock. Visible "MPL" oval cartouche on left side denoting inspection by M.P. Lomax who inspected Waters pistols from 1837-1843 and was sub-inspected by Joseph Hannis who inspected Waters pistols from 1838-1862. CONDITION: Very good as partially cleaned and sanded on lock. Balance of metal parts are bright with moderate patina throughout. Stock is excellent as lightly sanded and finish added. Action works correctly and is tight. Bore is very good with light dust. -TN-
