Spencer Model 1865 lever action carbine, serial number 4700. Manufactured by the Burnside Rifle Company out of Providence, Rhode Island. 20" round barrel chambered in .56-52 Spencer Rimfire with carbine rear sight and blade front. 2 piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with saddle ring and carbine buttplate. Custom carving of one buck and two doe on right side of stock. CONDITION: Good, with almost all of the original finishes turned to a blue-gray patina with heavy pitting overall. Stock and forearm are good, with heavy wear and a small crack at heel near buttplate top tang. Action works correctly. Bore is dark with heavy abrasion and visible rifling. -TN-
