Chopper lump barrels with brass bead-on-post front sight on island with light floral bordering around proximity, smooth slope to a stippled spearpoint. Smooth concave rib inlaid in gold "KARL Hauptmann - Ferlach". Approximately 1/3rd length rear right with stippled spearpoint, rear sight with single gold express line and anti-glare matting. QD scope mount with starbursts, rib engraved with sprigs of florals with gold accents, which extends over breeches, which also sport a gold line. Rib of breech with more starburst. Barrel flats with Belgian proofs, 233216 serial number, and "COT". Forend with Deely release engraved at release and exterior of iron with acanthus scroll and roses on a blackened stippled ground, with gold accents throughout. Disc set strikers. Reinforced scalloped back boxlock action with engraved with gold accented acanthus scroll on a blackened stippled ground. Non-automatic safety with top tang running over comb. Gold washed double triggers, front set, in a flat profile trigger guard with long tang running to skeleton buttcap engraved en suite. Left side of trigger guard with engravers signature "armin bundschuh". Skeleton grip cap with centrally set gold oval engraved "EA" on stippled ground. Wonderful Turkish walnut stock terminates in Hauptmann black recoil pad. Sling swivels on underside of rib and belly of stock. Mounted with a Swarovski 1-6x SFP scope with illuminated reticle with two power settings for daytime and nightime use. Scope rings clearly engraved by the same hand who did the rifle, with identical gold accented pattern. Housed in a cobblestone pattern Hauptmann case with blue lining and trade label in lid. French fitted to hold gun and accessories with comprise pulllthrough, Swarovski cap and cap turn. Paperwork in case included Swarovski manual, Swarovski glass cleaning kit, Hauptmann laminated target, catalog, and invoice dated June 30th, 2016 for rifle and 400 rounds. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain virtually all of their bluing with one distinct area under the forearm where some kind of chemical wormed it's way in, as there is an area of discoloration and roughness that is mirrored on the interior of iron; some minor handling marks. Forearm is very good with some pressure marks and handling marks. Receiver is excellent, engraving is crisp and highly attractive. Stock is very good with some handling marks, mostly towards rear, including a few deeper dings on left side of stock, a miniscule chip along belly, rub at toe. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are excellent with strong rifling. Glass is clear, throws smoothly, and illumination works appropriately. Case is fine. A wonderful double rifle in a great caliber. EW
