Wood is an attractive exhibition grade oil finished walnut. There is a central emblem depicting a crown over a lion and "L. Bosis." Small diamond escutcheon toward iron engraved en suite. Exterior of iron at rear engraved en suite. Interior of iron with matching serial number engraved. Sidelock action with serial number on frame rail and Italian proofs on interior masterfully engraved with flowing florals and bouquets en suite with the forearm but of a more elaborate design that flows onto the recoil shields, tang, and opening lever. Bottom of receiver with bulino scene of a Diana with an arrow in her hand and an enraged swan on a river bank. Signed at the bottom left of the vignette "Galeazzi". Area between vignette engraved with more scroll. Left side of trigger guard signed "Parravicini P." Trigger guard engraved with more flowing florals and bouquets. Rear of bottom tang with a somewhat simpler floral design and serial number. Automatic safety with "SICURA" in front, finely checkered. Top tang with more flowing scroll. Pistol grip stock with well cut point pattern checkering surrounding. Darkwood pistol grip cap. Attractive stock of highly figured wood with hand rubbed oil finish and terminating in a soft black recoil pad. Cased in a Nizzoli leather case with red lining on interior and French fitted compartments with accessories comprising a two piece cleaning rod, a Bosis spring and cocking rod tool (case colored) and extra strikers, mop, brush, and two twelve gauge snap caps. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining virtually all of its finishes. Barrels has a few extremely minor marks, somewhat moreso on set B. Forearm is also in similarly fine condition with no cracks or splits and only a few extremely minor marks. Engraving is crisp and highly attractive. Lever slightly right of center. Some of the gold at safety and serial number have lifted. Checkering at wrist has a few small abrasions. There are a few minor marks in the stock and some crazing of finish, primarily on left side. Recoil plate is soft and pliable. Wood to metal fit is excellent. Action works appropriately when gently cycled by hand. Bores are excellent. Ejectors are in time on barrel set A. Barrel set B ejectors are very slightly out of time, with top being first. This is a breathtakingly well engraved firearm worthy of the finest collections. EW
