1884 vintage Winchester Model 1876 lever action rifle, serial number 51339. 28" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube chambered in .40-60 WCF with standard rear sight and German silver blade front. Cartridge elevator is faintly marked ".40-60." 2 piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with rifle forearm cap and rifle buttplate with butt trap (trap is empty). CONDITION: Good overall with almost all of the original finish turned to a mottled gray-brown patina with scattered moderate to heavy pitting and handling marks. Stock and forearm are very good and retain most of their original oil finish with no discernable cracks and moderate handling marks. Action works properly when cycled by hand and is tight and smooth in operation. Bore is dark with visible rifling and heavy corrosion. -TN-
