Kentucky style half stock side by side "Cape Gun" built circa 1857 to 1868 by Frederick Beerstecher of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Steel side by side barrels with left barrel being a smoothbore and the right being rifled with barrels marked "F. Beerstecher Lewisburg, Pa.". Smooth concave rib with blade front sight and rear notched sight. Back action locks marked "George Golcher" and controlled with double triggers. Walnut half stock with cheekpiece, German silver nosecap and escutcheons, and brass furniture including an oval patchbox. Comes with hardwood ramrod and background information on Beerstecher. CONDITION: Overall good with metal having been cleaned and wood having had an applied coat of oil that has glazed over stock and metal furniture. Good bores and mechanics. DLM
