Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle. Made late 1894. Barrel marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.". Standard patent date on the rear tang. Round steel barrel with blade font and buckhorn rear leaf sight. Original blued finish. Oil finished wood stocks with metal crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with areas of wear and patina. Wood is very good with minor dings, scratches, and handling marks. There is a medium sized chip out of the bottom of the front hand guard. Bore has some minor pits near the muzzle, but is other wise clean with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
