Manufactured in 1911, this Colt Police Positive revolver features all blue finish, with nitre blued screws, trigger, and hammer, and is mounted with 2 piece Colt hard rubber grips, which are hand scratched on the interior panels to match. The 4" barrel features a half-moon blade front sight with a notched rear sight on the frame. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT POLICE/POSITIVE .38", with Colt's 2 line address across the top. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo within an intertwined "C" motif. The trigger is smooth, with the hammer being checkered. Complete with a later production Colt Police Positive Special box, containing several Colt factory pamphlets and cards, which are proper to the box. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting scattered areas of wear, thinning, and freckling all around. Mirror bore, with sharp rifling throughout. 2 piece hard rubber grips exhibit some handling marks and minor losses to the checkering. Later production box shows wear along the edges, some scattered handling marks overall, as well as some writing in pen on the interior of the top lid. End label is good, showing some light wear and few minor losses. A nice example of a Colt Police Positive revolver that is over a century old. -MLW-
