Kentucky style rifle made in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania circa 1815 similar to rifles made by Gibbs and Gumph. Full octagon smoothbore barrel with German silver blade front sight and rear notch fixed sight with no visible markings. Original 2 bolt "Drepperd Lancaster" marked flint lock plate converted to percussion with addition of percussion bolster and unique high arch gunsmith made percussion hammer with single trigger control. Curly maple full stock with Lancaster Style wrist carving and brass hardware including a nicely engraved four piece Lancaster style patchbox with push button release in the toe. Comes with reproduction ramrod. CONDITION: As found with barrel having been cut back at some point in time and most likely bored out to smoothbore when shot out. Metal parts have an aged corroded appearance with some light pitting. Wood has attic look to it with some repairs around front of trigger guard and forestock with barrel key hole plugged with plastic wood. Hammer screw is a replacement. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics. Would make a great restoration project. DLM
