Manufactured in 1943 at Berlin-Lubecker Maschinenfabrik (BLM). The G41(W) rifle utilizes the Danish designed "Bang" system and was developed to supply front line troops with more semi-automatic rifles to improve their overall combat efficiency. Due to the G41(W)'s design, the rifle was difficult to maintain and was soon succeeded by the G43. This example is marked "G.41 duv 43" followed by the serial number. Most metal components are marked with an eagle over "WaA 214" waffenamts. The receiver features rail cuts for the ZF pattern optics and mount (not included) and the upper handguard is comprised of brown bakelite. Receiver, bolt carrier, bolt guide, magazine housing, trigger guard, and muzzle cone assembly are all matching. Bolt is forced matched with electro-pencil. Stock does not match. Complete with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and some light surface oxidation. Bright bore, showing well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock shows some scattered handling and storage marks, with a few areas showing minor losses and marring. Bakelite upper handguard is excellent, showing some minor handling and storage marks. With only an estimated 150,000 G41(W) rifles produced and their high rate of attrition on the Eastern Front, this makes for a very nice example of a desirable German World War II semi-automatic rifle. -MLW-
