Model 1906 Luger manufactured by DWM for military contract sales in Switzerland. Major metal components are blued, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Receiver is marked with the Swiss "Cross in Shield" crest over the chamber area, with a cross over "V" proof present on the left side and cross over "M" proof on the right. Toggle is stamped with the DWM monogram. Features include a 4 - 3/4" tapered barrel and grip safety. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the firing pin, magazine, and grips, which are unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting few minor areas of wear and some very minor areas of oxidation beneath the grip panels. Strawed components show some wear, as well as a few minor areas of age-related discoloration. Mirror bore, with well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips show some smoothing, as well as a few small nicks and impressions. Only slightly over 5,000 of these "Cross in Shield" Lugers were manufactured, and fall within the 10000-15215 serial number range, making this a nice example of a DWM Swiss contract Model 1906 Luger. -MLW-
