1880 Vintage Winchester Model 1876 rifle, serial number 11352. 28" full octagon barrel with full-length magazine tube. Chambered in .45-75 WCF. Blue with casehardened hammer and lever. Standard sights. Plain trigger. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Rifle-style crescent buttplate. Accompanying letter from the Cody Firearms Record Office confirms configuration and further states: "Received in warehouse on October 07,1880. Shipped from warehouse on April 02, 1881, Order number 25004." CONDITION: Very fine with approximately 85-90% original blue remaining overall. Blue is turning thin on barrel and magazine tube, and beginning to turn brown. Buttplate is mostly a grey-brown patina. Traces of original case colors on the hammer and lever. Bore is fine with strong rifling showing light abrasion. Action is tight and crisp. Wood is sound showing moderate wear with a few scattered light dents and scrapes. Overall an attractive Model 1876. -MKS-
