1891 Vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 142077. 4 - 3/4" barrel with roll die marked "Colt Frontier Six Shooter" on left side of the barrel. Chambered in .44-40 WCF. Blue with case hardened frame and hammer. Fitted with period two-piece carved pearl grips with the Mexican Eagle and Snake motif on right panel. CONDITION: Fine overall with 10-15% original blue on barrel, with balance turned a pleasing blue-grey patina. Cylinder shows approximately 80-85% thinning original blue. Inside forestrap has the name "W.F. Clark" inscribed with an electric engraving pen. Frame has strong traces of original case colors with balance a pleasing dove grey patina. Excellent non-molested screws. Grips are excellent showing little wear with no chips or scares however, are not original to the gun. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Overall an attractive black powder era Colt Single Action chambered in desirable .44-40 WCF cartridge. -MKS-
