An extremely rare round body back action sidelock 20 gauge built circa 2013. This beautiful shotgun is only the second made by Krieghoff in this configuration and was a special order by an American collector. The dovetail shiny blued barrels are 28" with 3" chambers, concave matte game rib with a round brass front sight. Top of left barrel reads "KRIEGHOFF' "MADE IN GERMANY". Bottom of left barrel reads "KRIEGHOFF INT." "OTTSVILLE, PA". Underside of right the barrel with serial number "1136" "DE 20/76". Barrel flats show markings of 15,9 and appropriate German proof marks. Barrels have fixed chokes of MODIFIED and MODIFIED. The handsomely case colored sidelever action is built with a hidden third fastener (Purdey Style), disk set strikers, checkered slide auto-safe, "S" in gold, gold cocking indicators, gold washed lock work, double gold washed triggers - front being articulated. Unique Cast Off case colored Sidelever with checkered thumb position which extends to a long case colored bottom tang. Action bottom with "ESSENCIA" in gold. The marbled and well figured European walnut stock has been built with an English straight hand grip which has finely cut point checkering, golden oval bearing the initials "BWR". The checkered buttstock is nicely protected by a fitted skeletonized case colored plate. A matching splinter forend has case colored hardware and an Anson-styled push-button release. The gun is housed in a Krieghoff leather travel case with green outer canvas cover. Interior case lid with leather Krieghoff label. Case is also fitted with nickel-plated snap caps, square oil bottle, cleaning supplies, and Krieghoff instruction manual. CONDITION: Fine. Barrels retain 95% original blue with few and small marks from forend rub. Bores are bright. Action and hardware case colors 98% with some slight handling marks mainly on trigger guard. Action is sound with occasional left ejector sticking when fired with snap caps. Triggers are crisp. Stock is in very good condition with multiple light handling marks. Forend is in very good condition with a couple of very light handling marks. Case is very good. Very nice and unique piece...would be nice to add to a collection as well as shoot. CP
