Circa 2017. A modern production of the venerable Mauser 98 bolt action. Raised front island sight on barrel band with steel tipped bead front sight and silver express line rear sight. Sling loop on with sling swivel with barrel band. Barrel shank with Original Mauser logo laser etched, right side, just at the stock line, the German proofs for Ulm proofing in 2017. Both receiver rings are drilled and tapped for a scope mount, although currently filled with filler screws. 3 position wing safety. Pistol grip stock of a well figured and lightly fiddled European walnut, with press checkering and a dark wood cap. Stock with sling swivel with loop. Metal parts are black plasma nitrided, bolt handle is in polished steel in color. Accompanied by a black travel hard case with Mauser paperwork. Import marked for Mauser at ejection port. CONDITION: Excellent, showing only a few very minor marks from handling. Most likely from shop wear. Most visible in the checkering where a few heads are abraded. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is excellent. Travel case is good. CP
