Fernand Corman is a noted gunmaker out of Belgium working on sporting arms. This example is a best quality rifle built on a Mannlicher action with a brass bead front sight on raised island with light floral engraving, and a leaf rear sight with one standing leaf, unmarked, and one folding leaf marked for 300 yards. Checkered scope mount over barrel shank with dual claws in front and single offset claw at rear. Case colored action with butterknife bolt raised just slightly at tip. Playful simple geometric border engraving signed by V. Grosjean in thumb cutout on action, forward scope mount, pistol grip cap, floorplate. Tang safety. Serial number inlaid in gold on bottom tang. Case colored and engraved pistol grip cap with gold inlaid "GM" initials. Well figured walnut stock with darkwood forearm cap and point pattern checkering at forearm and pistol grip. Sling swivels at forearm and toeline with locking tab engraved en suite. Case colored and engraved skeleton buttplate with skipline checkered wood. Shadowline cheekpiece. Zeiss Diatal-Z 6x42 fixed power duplex scope with appropriate mounts. Small import mark on right side of action behind bolt for Simpson, LTD. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the blue finish with some minor spotting in between the rear sight and barrel shank. Some very minor marks from handling and storage. Case colors are strong and vibrant with good lacquer. Engraving is well cut and crisp. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with sharp rifling. Glass is clear.
