Remington New Model Navy 1858 Conversion single action revolver. Made circa 1870s. Patent dates on the barrel are barely visible. There is a small anchor mark on the barrel, in front of the frame. No visible inspector stamps on the metal components. No markings on the cylinder either. Octagon barrel with pin front sight. Spurred hammer. Original finish on the metal components worn to a heavy patina in areas. Brass trigger guard. Walnut grips are not numbered. CONDTION: Metal retains little of its original finish with wear and gray patina forming in areas. Grips have handling marks and scratches. There are two drilled holes (filled now) in the bottoms of the grips. Bore is frosted at the muzzle with a few scattered pits. Very good overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Edges of the cylinder have wear and dents from being dry fired. Mechanically operable. JWA
