This unique lot presents a letter dated May 1, 1941 referencing the reassignment and release of duty of an infamous SS Officer by the name of Rudolf Querner. Querner was a Gruppenfuehrer of the SS who joined the NSDAP in 1933, joined the SS in 1938, and served in various leadership positions in the SS. Near the end of WWII he was responsible for the evacuation of numerous POW and concentration camps. He was arrested at the end of the war by the Allies, and committed suicide while in captivity in Magdeburg. The letter is signed by Heinrich Himmler, the infamous Reichsfuehrer of the SS. His signature has been authenticated by several experts and is without question original. The letter was sent by Himmler's headquarters to Querner, at his headquarters in Hamburg. The letter states that Querner is being appointed for the duration as the war as the senior SS and Polizei commander of the district in the North Sea part of Germany. And that he is being released from his previous duties. A very unique document, which provides additional research opportunities. CONDITION: Very good. WZ
