Chapuis Armes was founded in 1934 and is well known and based in St-Bonnet-le-Château, France specializing in premium hunting shotguns and rifles. This boxlock double rifle with bolstered frame has been designated with 23 - 3/4" blued steel barrels. Barrels are featured with ejectors and Chapuis unique lock up mechanism. Barrels also feature a quarter rib with single standing rear sight and 3 folding sights regulated for 100, 150, and 200 yards. Quarter rib also with base for claw mounts. Front sight is ramped and bladed with brass colored tip. Matte quarter rib reads "Carabine Double Express CHAPUIS France". Rib bottom fixed with eye for sling loop. Bottom of left barrel reads "CHAMPLAIN FIREARMS Enid OK". Barrel stamped "AR" with crown above near barrel flats. Barrel flats "27222" (serial number), 0, AR with crown above. Barrel lock up stamped "470 NE" and with Cross (+). The non-auto safe case color hardened action with disk set strikers and double triggers is decorated with fine scroll engraving. Top lever thumb piece and safe slide are checkered. Case colored double triggers are protected by a case colored hardened trigger guard that extends to a long bottom strap. The rifle's dark reddish brown European walnut stock is nicely figured with wavy tiger striping, finely checkered pistol grip. Case colored engraved grip cap with trap door, stud for sling loop and black Decelerator butt pad. Matching long beavertail forend with Deeley style latch release and iron metal. Latch release and iron metal are case colored and are adorned with light scrolls. Interior iron metal is case color hardened and is stamped "470" and "27222". The rifle is fitted with a 1.25-4x20 Schmidt & Bender Magnum Scope. Rifle lives in an Americase with black canvas outer cover and with a leather ammo pouch holding 5 rounds. Rifle and Case also accompanied by a large quantity of custom loads and bullets. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain virtually all of their original blue. Bores are bright. Action is tight, ejectors are timed well and triggers are crisp. Stock and forend are very good with light handling marks. Case is good. Very good big game rifle. CP
