British No. 4 MK 1 Enfield .303 rifle. Left side of receiver is marked "No4 Mk1(F)FTR/47" and left side stock band is marked "1943, ENGLAND", the serial number, and perhaps a "M47C". The "FTR" on the receiver represents "Factory Through Repair", and the "F" likely represents the maker of Fazakerley who did the rebuild in 1955. Matching serial numbers are present on the left stock band, the lower front firearm, 10 round magazine, and perhaps on the lower front of the stock as it is illegible. Standard British military finish of black is present on all components, except the magazine which is blued. Import marked on top of barrel. Oil finished stock is marked "FR" on the right rear, a white painted "WLH/7/55" on the left rear butt, a sequence of markings on the lower front forearm, and an arrow "M22" and serial number on the front of rear butt stock. Brass butt plate. Correct magazine is included. CONDITION: Excellent. Rifle retains 90+% of its finish, and stock presents very light wear with light dings and scrapes. Rifling is strong and bore is bright. Mechanically fine. WZ
