Having a relatively short lifespan, the USAS 12 was manufactured by Daewoo Precision Industries in South Korea. The USAS 12 was initially supposed to be introduced to the American domestic market, but was ultimately shut down when it was classified as a Destructive Device due to it serving no sporting purposes. Sharing some design elements with the M16 family of rifles, the USAS 12 features an M16 style lower receiver, integral carry handle on the receiver, and also fires from a closed bolt. This example is marked "INTERORD CORPERATION/ NASHVILLE TN USA" over the serial number on the right side of the receiver, with "USAS-12/ 12GA 2 3/4 INCH/ US PAT 4930399" on the left side. Forend, grip, and stock consist of black polymer. This example is accompanied by 9 box magazines, 1 drum magazine, an additional buffer tube/charging handle assembly, a compensator, and an additional half section of the forend. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their finish, exhibiting a few scattered handling marks and scratches present on the receiver and lower assembly. Plastic components show a few scattered handling marks, but are otherwise fine. Magazines show some superficial wear, but appear entirely serviceable. This weapon may be sold as a non-NFA firearm, as solely with the USAS-12, if an individual is in possession of a receiver and is not in possession of a barrel, then the receiver is no longer considered an NFA firearm. This information is not listed in the ATF Handbook, but has been shared by ATF officials through correspondence with individuals who possess a non-barreled receiver. Possession of a nonregistered USAS-12 receiver and barrel is considered an unregistered NFA firearm, and is subject to standard ATF rulings and procedures.
