Excavated Remington New Model 1858 Army percussion revolver found in 1975 at the Massard Prairie Federal Encampment site of the 6th Kansas Calvary Regiment. The Battle of Massard Prairie occurred in July of 1864 near the present day sight of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Gun comes with extensive provenance and narratives of the battle. Gun has 8" octagon barrel with fully loaded 6 shot cylinder. Brass trigger guard and iron hardware. CONDITION: As found with heavy pitting and frozen mechanism loaded and ready for battle. Gun is complete except for mainspring and missing grips. An excellent documented dug relic. DLM
