Lot consists of (A) 1859 Sharps Rifle or Carbine lock which consignor states was recovered from Antietam Creek near Sharpsburg, Maryland at unknown time. CONDITION: As found with rusted look of metal that has been in water. Lock is bent at back and is in the cocked position. (B) U.S. Model 1855 rifled musket lock with closed Maynard Tape Primer door. Consignor states that it was found at one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, The Wilderness, and was recovered there in the 1960s. CONDITION: As found with heavy pitting in the uncocked position. (C) 1853 Pattern British Enfield percussion musket lock recovered at unknown date according to consignor at Bentonville, North Carolina. Bentonville was fought in 1865 between the forces of Union Major General William T. Sherman and Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston causing Johnston to surrender a month after. CONDITION: As found condition with metal edges starting to disintegrate. Lock is in the cocked position. DLM
