Winchester Model 1895 High Grade Limited Edition manufactured in the mid to late 1990s. Left side of receiver bears 2 gold inlaid scenes of elk surrounded by scroll engraving within gold inlaid borders, with the right side bearing matching engraving instead with 2 inlaid scenes of big horn sheep. Magazine housing and lever bear equivalent scroll and gold inlaid border engraving on either side, with the trigger being gold plated. Silver nitride receiver, with blued barrel, bolt assembly, and hammer. Right side of barrel reads "WINCHESTER/ LICENSEE/ U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./ MADE IN JAPAN". Barrel is fitted with a barley corn rear sight and a blade front sight. Receiver is equipped with a tang mounted safety. Wood furniture features a high gloss finish and multi-point checkering on a schnabel tip forearm and straight grip buttstock. Buttstock is fitted with a flat buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent overall, showing few minor cosmetic marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore, with well defined lands and grooves throughout. Bolt face is excellent, showing few signs of use. Wood furniture shows a few small handling and storage marks, but is otherwise fine. A very attractive Winchester Model 1895 lever action rifle. MLW
