Model 06/24 Luger manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern during the early to mid 1920s interwar era. The receiver bears a Swiss acceptance proof on the right side, with a "BP" proof followed by cross over "M" within a rectangle proof, indicating inspection by General Muhlemann on the left side. Chamber is blank. Frame is stamped "P43" below the serial number, indicating the Swiss date of refurbishment for release to the public. Right side of breechblock is stamped with a cross over "ZR". Toggle bears the Swiss Geneva cross over "WAFFENFABRIK/ BERN". Matching numbers are present on the frame, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, barrel, receiver, breechblock, toggles, and grips. Magazine wood bottom is unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning, as well as some small spots of oxidation on and below the bluing. Frame shows a few small areas of bluing that have been touched up at one point in time. Grips screws retain little finish, with the balance turning a gray patina. Strawed components have been reheated and retain the vast majority of their finish. Rear toggle has been buffed and polished at the rear. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips are excellent, showing some light smoothing and few minor handling marks. MLW
