Standard configuration SVT-40 semi-automatic rifle manufactured at the Tula arsenal during World War II. The top of the receiver is stamped with a star over "1941". Standard Soviet arsenal proofs are present on exterior components. C.D.I. import stamp is present on the right side of the receiver along with the importer applied serial number. Arsenal matching numbers are present on the receiver, bolt carrier, bolt, trigger guard, gas cylinder, and buttstock. Magazine does not match. Rifle is accompanied by a canvas web sling, oiler, pin punch tool, and cleaning rod jag. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal applied blue finish, showing some areas of oxidation beneath the finish as well as a few light areas of wear that show through to silvering and patina. Very bright bore, showing some oxidation and retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Stock is very good overall, showing some minor marks from storage and handling. A nice example of an important Soviet semi-automatic battle rifle that proved to have a sizeable impact on European semi-automatic rifle designs. MLW
