Winchester First Model lever action rifle built by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1873 with serial number of "719". 28" full octagon barrel with Winchester Address and King's Improvement markings with sheared blade front sight and graduated flip rear sight. Blued first model frame with Thumbprint dust cover, plain trigger and full blued magazine tube. Madis lists that 1 of 600 rifles had a longer than standard barrel. Walnut plain stock with steel trapdoor buttplate and factory sling swivel. Walnut plain forearm with blued nosecap and factory sling swivel. CONDITION: Overall metal has turned brown with light surface corrosion. Lever is bent with dust cover screw missing and lever catch missing. Functions by hand with dark pitted bore. DLM
