Introduced in 1959 by the Pennsylvania Forestry Association, Howdy the Good Outdoor Manners Racoon became a well known and loved character promoting antilittering, clean environment, safer hunting, and other better outdoor manners messages. This lot consists of 5 of these Howdy advertisements. (A) 1960s vintage painted 18x24" tin sign with the message "HUNT SAFELY". (B) Framed 12-1/2x15-1/2" cardboard sign calling hunters to respect landowners (C) 12x18" poster with only the Howdy image and no message text. Consignor believes it to be an artist's proof. (D) 11x17" poster with "KEEP PENNSYLVANIA/GREEN AND CLEAN" message. (E) 11x17" poster with "WATER IS LIFE/HELP KEEP IT PURE" message. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. Tin sign retains bright colors with some minor paint loss. Paper advertisements show some fading and light staining. Poster (C) has a few tears and some creasing. BAS
