1915 vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 329418. 7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 WCF with single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address, correct Colt SAA front sight, and frame notch rear. 2 piece replacement plain ivory grips with small golden Colt medallions on either side. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment as a blue .44-40 7 - 1/2" gun sent to Simmons Hardware Co, St. Louis, Missouri, in a shipment of 1 sent June 1st, 1915. CONDITION: Excellent, with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining on blued assemblies with scattered minor handling marks throughout and finish loss from wear at muzzle and ejector rod housing. Frame retains vibrant case colors throughout, especially in protected areas with high edge wear. Grips are strong with no major signs of distress but are shy, especially near top of backstrap and are proud near butt. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is bright with well-defined, sharp rifling. Overall a high condition example of an American classic. TON
