Lot consists of (A) U.M.C. 2 piece box for the Colt Lightning Magazine Rifle. Box is full and correct with tan top and side labels. Top label reads "50 .38 CAL. COLT'S L.M.R. / CENTRAL-FIRE CARTRIDGES / MANUFACTURED BY / THE UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. / BRIDGEPORT, CONN., U.S.A.". The bullet in the center of the box has ".38 CAL. COLT'S / NEW LIGHTNING / MAGAZINE RIFLE" on it. The head stamp on the ammo is "U.M.C. / 38-40" CONDITION: Box shows wear. The top label has chipping and fading. Most of the side label is missing. Ammunition is in great condition. (B) U.M.C. tan 2 piece box with green top label and red side label. There are 45 correct rounds in this box with a "U" head stamp. Top label reads ".38 LONG R.F. / 50 CARTRIDGES / REMINGTON ARMS - UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. / AMUNITION & FIREARMS /UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE WORKS / BRIDGEPORT. CONN. U.S.A.". CONDITION: Solid box that is missing half of the red side label. The box has some staining and the top label shows just some slight wear. REW
