1907 vintage Colt Bisley Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 299246. 4 - 3/4" round barrel chambered in .44-40 WCF with 2 line Colt Hartford, CT address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Matching serial numbers observed on butt, trigger guard, and frame. 2 piece factory checkered gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt in an oval on either side. Factory letter indicates shipment to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri, as a 4 - 3/4" blued .44-40 in a shipment of 5 sent September 16th, 1907. CONDITION: Very good with significant traces of original bluing remaining, especially in protected areas with patina formed over it and areas of light pitting throughout. Frame is mostly gray with traces of original case color throughout. Grips are excellent, with no major signs of distress. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Bore is frosted with well defined rifling. TON
