Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with "REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, NEW YORK", "P" proof in front of front sight. Barrel with "HS" on right lug, "P" proof on left. Inverted "G" subinspector proof on top of frame bridle near disconnector hole. Left side of frame with "F.J.A." proof under slide release, "P" proof under magazine release. Right side of frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and serial number, "M1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" and crossed cannon cartouche. On close inspection, the crossed cannon cartouche is slightly triple stamped, and has the appropriate burnishing in the recesses. Checkered narrow hammer, slide release, safety, short stamped trigger, and magazine release. Long 1911A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Grips are Keyes fibre grips without reinforcing rings. Full blue magazine with "L" stamped on lip for Little. Housed in a contemporary kraft box with Remington Rand Ordnance number ink stamped on top. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of original Du-Lite over sandblasted finish with some thinning on slide and silvering to high edges. Some normal handling and storage marks, including takedown mark. Grips are very good externally, but right scale has cracks internally that do not go all the way through. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some light frosting in the grooves. Box is fine as contemporary. EW
