Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block Colt patent and address information with intercepting Rampant Colt, top of slide with "P" proof oriented to be read muzzle up. Slide correctly numbered under the firing pin retaining plate. Barrel marked " COLT 45 AUTO" on left side of chamber, "S" in front of lug, "P" on left lug. Frame with "P" proof below magazine release and "G.H.D." proof below slide release. Trigger guard with Colt VP proof and "R" proof on left side, "80" on right. Right side of frame with crossed cannon proof, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" mark, serial number, and "1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Checkered slide release, safety magazine release, and arched mainspring housing. Checkered spurred hammer, long 1911A1 grip safety, short stamped trigger. Coltwood grips incised "1967 MH" on interiors. Full blue dual pinned base magazine with "R" on lip indicating Risdon manufacture with "R" infilled with white paint for visibility. Housed in a contemporary kraft box with modern ink stamp reading "ONE COLT CAL 45ACP / SN# / STD. ORD. REV. 5463-2 / COLT PT. F. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." on lid. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the original parkerization with some minor marks from handling and storage. Some silvering at reciprocating areas consistent with light use, and some silvering to muzzle with holster wear. Nicely visible temper line on slide. Cartouche has appropriate burnishing in lines. Grips are excellent. Action works appropriatley when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling and minor frosting. Box is fine as contemporary. An excellent example. EW
