Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight, with right side of slide reading "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY", right side with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, with Rampant Colt at rear of slide. "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel with "P / H" stamped on hood, oriented to read with muzzle pointed up. "5" in front of lug. "H" and "G" inspector marks on top of frame bridle, near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTLY" and GHS inspector proof above magazine release, right side with serial number. Checkered slide release with mill relief cut, left side only safety with relief mill cut under tab, checkered magazine release, checkered spurred hammer, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. 2 tone magazine with pinned base, no initials on lip. Housed in a kraft box with "ONE COLT CAL 45 ACP / SN# / STD. ORD. REV. 5603-2 . COLT PT F. MFG. CO / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." ink stamped. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining the virtually all of the Colt brushed blue finish with some minor brown patina forming on straps and along dust cover. Some minor silvering towards muzzle consistent with holster wear. Some minor silvering to reciprocating areas. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good plus with strong rifling and some minor frosting. Box is fine as contemporary. This is an excellent example. EW
