Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide 2 line, 2 block patent and address information with intercepting Rampant Colt, right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S.ARMY". "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel with "P / H" stamped on barrel hood, oriented to read with muzzle pointing up. Lug stamped with a horizontal Z on right lug, "5" in front of lug. "H" and "G" inspector marks on top of frame bridle near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Left side of frame with "(Eagle Head) / SI4", left side trigger guard with "37", right side of frame with serial number. Truncated diamond checkered walnut stocks. Heart shaped lightening cuts. Checkered slide release with relief mill cut, checkered safety with no mill cut, spurred checkered hammer, long milled trigger, checkered magazine release, short 1911 grip safety, flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 tone dual pinned base magazine with no initials on lip. Housed in a contemporary kraft box. CONDITION: Very good, retaining much of the Colt brushed blue finish with attractive burnishing around the eagle stamp. Brown patina has formed throughout, primarily along slide (particularly towards muzzle), dust cover, and grip straps. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some frosting. Box is fine as contemporary. EW
