Manufactured to supplement American side arm production for World War I in the government standard .45 ACP caliber. It features military blued finish, a 5-1/2" tapered pinned round barrel marked on bottom "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", blade front sight, U-notch rear sight, fluted 6-shot swing out cylinder for use with half moon clips, frame marked with earlier "GHS" inspector mark ahead of hammer, early serrated case hardened hammer, square butt marked with "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917", lanyard loop, and concave smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good retaining vast majority of factory applied finish with some light to moderate high edge wear, especially at muzzle and on trigger guard. Some handling marks, a few minor spots of finish loss, and a drag line also present. Case hardened components retain portions of their faded colors. Grips good with some scattered impressions. Bright bore with crisp mechanics. Excellent lock up and mechanics. BAS
