Single Action Army manufactured by Colt in 1915. Metal components have been renickeled. Features include a 4 - 3/4" barrel, blade front sight, notched rear sight, long flute cylinder, and 2-piece Colt plastic grips. Barrel markings have been obliterated, with frame markings being partially legible. Frame, trigger guard, and backstrap are matching. Rear of frame and loading gate assembly numbers are matching. Included with this example is a factory letter stating the this revolver was originally shipped to Krakauer, Zork & Moyes Hardware, Ranch, Mine & Mill Supplies. Afterwards, this revolver was shipped to Shelton Payne Arms Co. in a shipment of Colt Single Action Army revolvers with long flute cylinders. Paperwork included is a letter from Krakauer detailing the shipment to Shelton Payne Arms Co., a factory letter, a photo of the Krakauer company records showing this gun by serial number, a scan of the Krakauer building, as well as a scanned short history of the Krakauer and Shelton companies' history. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their reapplied nickel finish, showing some areas of wear and some superficial handling marks. Bore is bright and retains good rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and scattered handling marks, but are otherwise fine. MLW
