Second generation Single Action Army manufactured by Colt in 1956. Left side of barrel is marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" with Colt's one line address across the top. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the Rampant Colt Logo. Features include a case colored frame, 7 - 1/2" blued barrel, blade front sight, notched rear sight, blued trigger guard and grip straps, and 2-piece Colt checkered black plastic grips. Matching numbers are found on the frame, grip straps, and interior of grips. Assembly number is matching on frame, cylinder, and loading gate. Complete with an original factory box hand written to match on the bottom that contains a "Handling the Handgun" and care pamphlets, as well as an instruction sheet and warranty card. CONDITION: Excellent overall, with the frame retaining strong case colors and blued components retaining virtually all of their factory blue finish. Cylinder is excellent, showing no drag line. Mirror bore, retaining well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips are in matching condition to the rest of the revolver. Lid is detached from box, showing a tear and some wear. Box shows some wear from handling and storage. An excellent example of a first year production second generation Colt Single Action Army revolver that would be difficult for one to upgrade from. MLW
