Circa 1948 and once owned by the famed Howard Winchester Hawks the American Film Director, producer and screenwriter of Hollywood's golden age. Gun is built with blued steel 28" barrels with 2 -3/4" chambers and ejectors. Rib is machined matted, concave, tapered, and with small round steel mid bead and a red round front bead sight. Left barrel reads "WINCHESTER - 20 GAUGE 2 - 3/4 CHAM.". Bottom of barrels read "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL", "WS-1","WS-2". Barrel flats with serial number "22130". Black boxlock receiver is stamped "SKEET" on bottom. Water table stamped "MADE IN U.S.A. MODEL 21", WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO NEW HAVEN. CONN.". Serial number "22130" is also stamped under top lever. Gun is non-auto safe. The blacked single trigger is mechanical and built with a barrel selector. Trigger is protected by a blacked trigger guard which extends to its blacked bottom tang. Safe slide is checkered and the word "SAFE" is stamped beneath it. Top lever thumb is checkered. The guns walnut stock has two checkered panels, checkered pistol grip, pistol grip with black cap and reads "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.". Buttstock is finished with a red rubber pad with a thin leather cover at rear. Matching beavertail checkered forearm with roller release has blacked iron metal. Gun lives in a Browning-styled Naugahyed case. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain mostly all of their blue with some light handling marks. Action is mechanically sound. Trigger is crisp and ejectors are timed well. Stock and forend are good with some handling marks. Case is also good. Nice gun! CP
