1859 vintage Colt 1849 Pocket percussion revolver, serial number 158275. 6" octagonal barrel in .31 caliber with single line Colt New York address, cone front sight, and hammer notch rear. 5 shot cylinder with roll-died Stagecoach cylinder scene. Matching serial numbers observed on butt, trigger guard, frame, barrel, rammer, cylinder, cylinder arbor, and wedge. 1 piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good, with barrel assembly turned a mottled gray patina overall with scattered light pitting throughout and streaks of original bluing. Rammer retains traces of original case color, especially in protected areas. Cylinder scene is crisp, and cylinder retains a majority of its original bluing. Frame retains vibrant case colors. Grips are strong and well fitting overall and show no major signs of distress. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Bore is frosted with abrasion toward muzzle and crisp rifling. A high condition example of one of Colt's most widely produced and used Civil War era blackpowder revolvers. TON
