1883 vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 85037. 5 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 WCF with single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Barrel is not marked "Frontier Six Shooter" in either etched panel or roll die. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips featuring an Eagle and Rampant Colt on either side. CONDITION: Fair, with virtually all of the original finishes turned a gray patina with handling marks and pitting throughout. Front sight has been filed and reshaped. Trigger guard is ill fitting to frame. Center pin retaining screw is heavily marred and was not able to be removed for inspection. Hammer, cylinder stop, and grip screws are replacements. Grips are ill fitting, especially near front edge where they meet the frame. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is dark with visible rifling. TON
