Manufactured 1942. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight, "P" proof on top of slide oriented to rear with muzzle up. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent information and intercepting pony. Attractive 2 tone temper line at front of slide. Barrel with "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of chamber and "P" on left lug. Checkered spurred hammer, checkered slide release, checkered safety with thick tab, long 1911A1 grip safety. Short checkered trigger. Arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Scoop lightened Coltwood grips. Left side of trigger guard with VP proof, T subinspector proof, Broberg proof under slide release, and P proof near magazine release. Right side with appropriate "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marking, serial number, and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY". Magazine with "COLT / 45 AUTO" on base. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the parkerization. Some minor marks from handling and use, primarily from cycling. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. A nice example. EW
