Manufactured 1917. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight, "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information in serif font. Rear of slide with uncircled pony. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" in serif font. Barrel with "P / H" oriented to read with muzzle pointing up, "5" stamped in front of lug and on left side of lug. Top of frame with "G" "H" and "I" stamped near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", left side of frame with "GHS" stamp for Stewart. Right side of frame with serial number. Small parts are checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety with milled undercut, slide release with milled undercut, checkered magazine release, long smooth trigger, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing. 2 tone magazine. CONDITION: Good plus, retaining approximately half of the blue finish with balance mixing with brown, primarily to slide. Most blue retaining on frame and in protected areas such as stirrup cut. Grip straps are essentially brown with flashes of blue. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with strong rifling and some frosting in grooves. EMW
