Manufactured 1918. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight, with "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, rear of slide with uncircled pony. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Barrel stamped "D / S" in front of lug, and "P / H" stamped vertically with barrel pointing up. Top of frame stamped "H" "5" and "G" near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "JMG" proof for Gilbert near magazine release. Right side of frame with serial number. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety with relief mill cut, checkered slide release with relief mill cut, checkered magazine release, long milled smooth trigger, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. 2 tone magazine. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the Colt blue finish with some normal marks from handling and operation, including a light takedown mark. Right side of frame has some light pitting near grip safety and hammer pins. A few spots of brown patina are beginning to form scattered throughout, with grips approximately half patina and half blue. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some frosting in grooves. EMW
